Mia Hellberg

Mia is currently based in Stockholm, coming from Gothenburg working alongside the company Twisted Feet.
As a lover of cultural exchange she went for training in both New York and Los Angeles, including a program for choreographer Dana Foglia (Dana Foglia Dance Company).
Been in the field professionally since 2012 doing stage performances, TV shows, commercial jobs and teaching.
Mia started her dance journey in the hiphop community, and since training different street styles Mia also started out teaching within hiphop as well as commercial types of choreography. Over time she found inspiration in contemporary art and kept exploring movements outside the box, not attached to any rules or prestige, just combining the beauty of moves from different techniques and art forms. Some time also spent researching the world of yoga is adding on to the work both physically and mentally. Her work is generally characterized by a fusion of the street elements and contemporary dance, often induced by floor work.
The journey is about being open minded and experimenting with different patterns of movement and expressions, to make it accessible for both artists and audience.
